Julie Bethell is a licensed attorney in Tennessee. Raised in Florence, Alabama, she graduated cum laude from Vanderbilt University in 1986, earning a B.S. in Secondary Education with concentrations in Math and Psychology. During college, she also studied French at the Université de Nice in Nice, France. In 1989, she received her J.D. degree from the University of Alabama School of Law in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where she was a member of the Law and Psychology Review. She moved to Memphis in 1989 and began practicing law. Through the years, as she raised her three children, Ms. Bethell has alternated her time practicing law, teaching math, tutoring math, and volunteering.
Ms. Bethell is a member of Calvary Episcopal Church, where she served as the Vestry Warden at Large for 2016. At Calvary, she has taught children's Sunday School classes, served on the Altar Guild, and volunteered her time at Calvary's annual Lenten fundraiser, the Waffle Shop. Ms. Bethell was an active member of the Junior League of Memphis, and she has enjoyed participating in the St. Mary's Episcopal School Parents Association, the Presbyterian Day School Parents Association, the Memphis University School Parents Association, and the Red Acres Garden Club.
Ms. Bethell lives in Memphis, Tennessee and enjoys gardening, tennis, exercise, travel, and spending time with her family, and dog.
